We advance our mission in three ways:

Training & EDUCATION

We’ve trained over 10,000 leaders and offer lifelong reach back support to all alumni.

Nearly 10,000 global policy, security, civil society, and other leaders have learned to mitigate conflict, strengthen governance systems, measure impacts, and other capabilities by completing one of our Signature Courses. Even more have participated in our custom trainings and workshops. All Motive alumni enjoy lifelong reach-back support so they can translate classroom learning into real-world impact.

Client Programs

Every program we implement advances our mission while delivering value to clients.

Motive designs and implements programs all over the world with funding from government and commercial clients. Our programming includes security cooperation workshops, nonproliferation and strategic trade initiatives, live and tabletop exercises, monitoring and evaluation services, and much more. Every program we take on advances our mission while meeting client needs.

Impact Initiatives

We invest revenue into not-for-profit and pro bono activities that advance our mission.

Motive’s unique social enterprise model means we earn client-generated revenue then invest it into not-for-profit activities that advance our social mission to mitigate global conflict and instability. We’ve sent pro-bono experts to frontline conflicts, funded innovative research and service projects, and continually advance our community of practice through outreach and thought leadership.

See how we shaped policy options in Colombia to mitigate the impacts of the Venezuelan migrant crisis.

Performance Highlights

The Innovators
Next Door Project

In partnership with U.S. and European government and industry stakeholders, Motive helped prevent the diversion of sensitive technology from the Baltic region’s vibrant high-tech sector.

Building Atrocity Prevention Capacity through Simulation-Based Exercise

Motive designed the custom Tabletop Exercise the U.S. State Department uses to prepare interagency and international partners with the tools they need to spot and prevent impending atrocities.

Strengthening Africa’s Health Systems Through Trade

On behalf of the U.S. Trade & Development Agency, Motive helped catalyze billions of dollars in new investments into Africa’s healthcare infrastructure and ecosystem.

Innovation and Modernization for the PSYOP Community

This project represents a transformative leap in the modernization of PSYOP (Psychological Operations) training and doctrine and is a collaborative effort involving a diverse network of government leaders, industry partners, and academic institutions. By reimagining PSYOP training and integrating cutting-edge practices, we are helping shape new standards in strategic influence.

Reducing Chem/Bio Proliferation Threats

Featuring in-country risk assessments, immersive scenario-based exercises, and targeted policy and practice advocacy, Project FORTRESS helped reduce WMD proliferation threats in Moldova by helping regulators, labs, manufacturers, and intermediaries better safeguard dual use chemical and biological precursors, equipment and know-how.
