Michael “Mick” Hauser has worked in over thirty countries and U.S. Embassies in Jakarta, Sarajevo, Singapore, and Sierra Leone. He is a former U.S. State Department Civil Service GS-15 Deputy Director of Plans and Initiatives, Political-Military Bureau, Washington, D.C. and a Foreign Service Officer, Economic Officer, U.S. Embassy Sierra Leone. Before entering the State Department, Michael was the Director of International Strategy and Policy for biotechnology, Bayer AG; represented industry in the International Chamber of Commerce, World Intellectual Property Association, World Trade Organization; and was Head of the Industry Delegation, United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity and Convention on Climate Change. Most recently, he was Director of Initiatives, West Point Association of Graduates and Department Chair at an international secondary school.

A retired U.S. Army Infantry Lieutenant Colonel and Military Attaché, Michael led Infantry units in combat; worked at tactical, strategic, joint, and inter-agency levels; and served as a Foreign Area Officer in Security Assistance and Defense Attaché organizations. His decorations and awards include the Legion of Merit; the enlisted Good Conduct Medal, Airborne, Air Assault, and Expert and Combat Infantryman badges; and the RANGER tab.

Michael’s degrees include a BS in Engineering, U.S. Military Academy, West Point; MA in International Relations, University of Hawaii; a MEd University of Oklahoma; and an MBA, Washington University in St. Louis/Fudan University, Shanghai. His executive education includes the Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy Program, Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University and a fellowship, Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, National University of Singapore.
